Meet the Players: 11 Emily Tarr Entering her third varsity season, Emily will be striving to turn hard work into consistent, tangible results for the Mustangs. She has played ball since the fourth grade, then at Redmond Junior High and in the Redmond Select Program with Bree, Lisa, and Paige. Her practice dedication has helped her set single season school records for 3 point shooting at 47% and free-throw shooting at 81%. She spent the off-season conditioning at the Redmond Athletic Club, the Pro Club, and played summer ball in a Seattle high school boy's league. Emily also was on the Mustangs volleyball team, helping them win KingCo and finish 8th in the state. She is also an ASB officer, an Honor Society officer, and recently received the University Achievement Award and University Scholar in Residence Award from Washington State University. Return to Top. 21 Paige Benjamin Paige is a three-year letterman in volleyball, reaching the state tournament twice in that span. She was named to the All-KingCo First Team and the All-Eastside Team and has accepted a full scholarship in volleyball at the University of Washington. In track, she missed going to state in the triple jump by 1/2 inch last year. Paige took up basketball in seventh grade and played three years at Redmond Junior High and on the Redmond Select team. In addition to her athletic pursuits, Paige is was a National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalist and is an Interhigh representative this year. She hopes to reach the state tournament in basketball this year. Return to Top. 22 Petra Dumm Petra started Parks and Recreation basketball in second grade. She played five years in the Redmond Select program and was a three year varsity player at Redmond Junior High. Petra is looking forward to her junior year because this will be the last time to spend with the seniors and get a chance to assist her team in its quest for the Kingco title and the state championship. Return to Top. 24 Lisa Milne Lisa Milne began playing hoops at age five. She participated in the Juanita Select program in sixth grade before moving to Redmond in seventh grade. Lisa played on the Redmond Select and Evergreen Junior High teams. She is a 3rd year starter on RHS varsity and earned 2nd Team All-KingCo last year. Lisa also lettered in track and volleyball each season with the volleyball winning KingCo this year and finishing eighth at State. This past summer Lisa played basketball for the Seattle Magic. She is now focused on helping the Mustangs to the state championship this year. Return to Top. 31 Brianna Risch Brianna played basketball for Redmond Parks and Redmond Select before a two year hiatus for elbow surgery. She played ninth grade varsity at Evergreen Junior High. She enjoys snowboarding, Spanish, travel and soccer, earning two varsity letters and KingCo honorable mention with the Mustangs’ soccer team. Bri is a year round premier 1 soccer player and spent last summer training in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. This her second year in the Redmond basketball program. She enjoyes working for her teammates and hopes to contribute to their success this year. Return to Top. 33 Bree Barnes Bree Barnes has been playing hoops since the third grade, beginning with the Redmond Parks and Recreation league, through the Redmond Select program and at Redmond Junior High. She starts her third varsity basketball season, earning 2nd Team All-KingCo last year. She also enjoys softball and volleyball, earning varsity letters in all seasons. Bree is proud of the volleyball team‘s KingCo championship and 8th place finish at State, and dreams of going to state in basketball and softball this year. Return to Top. 44 Emily Ashbaugh Emily began playing organized basketball in second grade and was on her first select team in fifth grade. She played five years in the Redmond Select Program, was a three-year varsity player at Evergreen Junior High, and is a member of the premier Seattle Black Magic 2000 Select team. Emily’s other sport is English riding and she enjoys swimming and skiing. She is excited about the team this year and is looking forward to the State Tournament.
