Meet the Players:


3    Christine Isherwood
Christine began playing basketball in first grade.  She played on various AAU teams during her 1st-5th grade years, played for the Redmond Select Girls Basketball Club during her 5th-9th grade years, played for the Seattle Magic Girls Basketball Club during her 6th-7th grade years, and is currently playing in her second season with the Puget Sound Flight Girls Basketball Club.  At Evergreen Junior High, Christine played one year of junior varsity basketball, winning the Offensive Player of the Year Award her 7th grade year, and two years of varsity basketball, winning the MVP Award her 9th grade year.  Christine was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Oregon City Tournament in 2004.  Christine is on the Honor Roll and maintains a 3.5 GPA.  Christine enjoys training with Mike Lawson at the Redmond Athletic Club and spending time with her family and friends. 
Favorite team: Huskies; Favorite Athlete: Tiger Woods; Favorite Quote: "Hard work now, pays off later"; One Wish: No injuries throughout the season; Comment on the Mustangs: "We're a good team this year and I hope we go far"; Most thrilling moment of sports career: Hitting a 3 pointer while playing on Flight against Joker's Wild team, winning it; Where would you like to be in 10 years?: I would like to be married and have a college degree.

4    Aislinn Ball
Aislinn started playing basketball in the 1st grade through the Boys and Girls Recreation league. In the 6th grade she tried out for Redmond Select and has played through the program ever since along with the Seattle Magic program. Aislinn maintains a 3.6 average and hopes to keep up her grades. Aislinn also plays soccer and loves to be with her friends.
Favorite team: Sonics; Favorite Athlete: Brandon Roy; Favorite Quote: "Pressure makes diamonds"; One Wish: To have a Range Rover; Comment on the Mustangs: "They're awesome"; Most thrilling moment of sports career: Winning the Little Oregon City tournament in 8th grade; Where would you like to be in 10 years?: Graduated from college and living a successful life.

5    Lina Perugini
Lina stopped playing Parks and Rec. basketball in elementary school to
become a competitive gymnast. She joined Redmond Select basketball in 6th grade and has played year- round basketball ever since, including Puget Sound Flight. In 2003, she tore her ACL and was out for one year. It was an interesting experience and made her stronger in every way. She is honored to be a member of the varsity team and continues to play "for the love of the game". She is excited for this season, experiencing everything associated with high school basketball for the first time and looks forward to the next 3 years as a member of the Lady Stangs. When not on the court, Lina enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, and hanging out with her friends.

Favorite team: Sonics; Favorite Athlete: Lebron James; Favorite Quote: "What does not kill you only makes you stronger"; Comment on the Mustangs: We have what it takes to be incredibly competitive this season! We are a bunch of "fighters" who will not back down or go down without a major battle" ; Most thrilling moment of sports career: First varsity game with the Mustangs, taking it all in from the warm up to going into the game for the first time. Where would you like to be in 10 years?: Where would you like to be in 10 years: Out of college with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy, with a great job, husband and a dog.

10    Hannah Tews
Hannah started playing competitive Basketball in 4th grade with Cedar Park Christian School. In 5th she played on the Kirkland Force Select team. In 6th grade she started playing for the mustangs select program. Hannah has played AAU Basketball with Seattle Magic, Puget Sound Flight, and is currently playing for Triple Threat. Hannah wishes to play in the collegiate level in the future. During her free time Hannah enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Favorite team: Sonics and Huskies; Favorite Athlete: Rashard Lewis;Favorite Quote: "Great changes may not happen right away but with effort even the difficult may become easy" - Bill Blackman; One Wish: to have a successful year; Comment on the Mustangs: "We are a very strong team; we work hard and have great chemistry"; Most thrilling moment of sports career: having the opportunity to play varsity this year; Where would you like to be in 10 years?: I would like to be out of college, working and giving something back to the community.


11    Carissa Fishel
Carissa has been playing basketball through various programs since she was in 3rd grade. She played through the Eastlake select program from 6th to 9th grade. At her old school she played varsity basketball in 10th grade and received the coaches award at the end of the season. Also the end of her 10th grade year she received the Athlete of the Year award. She enjoys the competitive game of basketball and hopes to never lose the love for the game. In her spare time she likes to hang out with friends and loves snowboarding in the winter!
Favorite team: Sonics; Favorite Athlete: Kevin Garnett; Favorite Quote: "It is what you learn from what happened not what happened that is important"; One Wish: To live my life to the fullest; Most thrilling moment of sports career: Winning the athlete of the year award as a sophomore at my old high school; Where would you like to be in 10 years?: I would like to be owning my own little boutique type store, married, maybe a kid.

21   Tanna Radtke
Tanna has played basketball since the first grade.  She began with Redmond Parks Department grades 1-5, then played Redmond Select grades 6-9.  She has played summer ball for Seattle Magic, also since 6th grade. Tanna also loves to play soccer.  She’s played on various select and recreational teams, plus 2 years for the RHS JV Soccer team. Tanna enjoys being with her friends and her family, and is looking forward to this year's basketball season.
Favorite team: non existent; Favorite Athlete:  Favorite Quote: "Everyone is kneaded out of the same dough, just baked in a different oven"; One Wish: To have two wishes; Comment on the Mustangs: "hardworking"; Most thrilling moment of sports career: hmmm, probably beating Garfield last season. That was a big win; Where would you like to be in 10 years?: successful and happy.
 


22   Mackenzie Flynn
Mackenzie started playing basketball in Kindergarten, at the Kirkland Boys & Girls Club. When she was in the fifth grade, she began playing for the Redmond Select program and continued to do so throughout the ninth grade.  Throughout the summer Mackenzie plays for the Puget Sound Flight Program, under the direction of Terry Graham and Dennis Edwards.  She has received many awards throughout the years, including the All-Tournament team for two straight years at the Little Oregon City tournament.  Last year, as a tenth grader, she received the Redmond High School "Coaches Award."  Mackenzie also tied a high school record last year shooting 56% from the two-point range.   
Favorite team: Sonics; Favorite Athlete: Nate Robinson; Favorite Quote: "Respect all fear none";Comment on the Mustangs: "fun to watch"; Most thrilling moment of sports career: hitting the game winning free throws against Garfield my sophomore year to win Kingco 4A; Where would you like to be in 10 years?: I would like to be graduated from college, married and having children. 

23   Colleen Betteridge
Colleen’s basketball career started when she was in kindergarten playing co-ed RES basketball until 4th grade. She started playing for Redmond Select in 5th grade through 8th grade. From 7th to 9th grade, Colleen was part of the Evergreen Junior High varsity basketball team. Colleen has played for many AAU basketball teams such as: Seattle Magic, Rotary Lady Style, Triple Threat, Puget Sound Flight and is currently playing for the Y.E.S. team in Seattle. In 2001, Colleen attended the 16 and under Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Championship in Lafayette, Louisiana. From 2001 to 2003 Colleen has won the MVP awards while attending the NBC All Star camps. She has also won the 2001 and 2003 MVP award at the University Of Washington basketball camp and made the All Star team. In 2001 she won the Redmond Select MVP of the year. Colleen was also: invited to the 2004-2005 Reebok All-American Camp, selected by the Street and Smith Magazine as a 2004-2005 All-American Honorable Mention, attended the 04-05 Blue Chip Camp (Kentucky) where she received All-Star and Best Ball Handler awards. She currently maintains a 4.0 GPA and is part of the National Honor Society. Colleen is looking forward to a fun and exciting year with the mustangs and wants to contribute her best to help the team achieve their goals.

It is something you have to put forth the effort for constantly; then maybe it'll come when you least expect it. Most people don't understand that" - Michael Jordan;Most thrilling moment of sports career: Attending the All-American Camp in North Carolina last summer and receiving a honorable mention award in the Street and Smith magazine; Where would you like to be in 10 years?: Playing in the WNBA.

24   Desiree Valentine
Desirée started basketball in the 6th grade with the Boys and girls Club and then joined the Redmond Select program in the 7th grade. She also enjoyed playing soccer in 5th and 6th grades.  Her sports focus since 7thgrade has been basketball.  She plays for the Lady Style AAU team during the summers and had the privilege of playing on the famous court at Chapel Hill. Desirée is also passionate about singing and modeling.  She has sung the National Anthem at many events, including the grand opening of RJH, and been a featured artist on a televised holiday special. She is very excited for the season this year and hopes to be able to contribute and have fun.
Favorite Athlete: Lisa Leslie; Favorite Quote: "If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them" - Henry David Thoreau;One Wish: Impact the world in one way or another. If someone wrote a book about me I would want people to want to read it; Comment on the Mustangs: I feel that we take extra care on the little things; you would be surprised how much of a difference that spending the afternoon as a team off the court changes games on the hardwood. Like Mary J. B. says "no more drama" it's all good though.


32    Jackie Olson
Jackie started basketball in the 2nd grade. She joined the Redmond Select  program in the 6th grade. Jackie enjoys  playing any sport, but basketball is her first love and volleyball is her second. Jackie is a member of the  Honor Society, and a volunteer at Emerald Heights.  She currently maintains a 4.0 grade point average with honors. She is very excited about playing  ball for Redmond High School and hopes to contribute to the team's success in 2002/2003 year.
Favorite team: San Francisco Giants; Favorite Athlete: Tim Duncan;Favorite Quote: "Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you too can become great" - Mark Twain; One Wish: That we play every game to our potential and know that, on that particular night, we kept nothing back; we saved nothing; Comment on the Mustangs: not every team has what it takes to be great. Many lack the potential, the simple love of the game. Every night we take the court, we have no doubt that the four others standing next to us love the game as much as anyone and knowing that gives us the heart to go to war .


33    Erika Edwards
Erika has played basketball since the 3rd grade when she played for Redmond Boys and Girls Club.  She started playing for the Redmond Select Program in the 4th grade. She played Varsity basketball for Evergreen Junior High for 3 years, earning the MVP award in her 9thgrade year.  She enjoys playing in the summer with her Puget Sound Flight Team and traveling to tournaments with her friends. She was awarded the MVP award at the Oregon City Tournament in 2003 as well as named to the All-Tournament Team the past 3 years.   When not playing basketball, Erika loves hanging out with her friends. She is excited to finally be playing high school basketball for the Mustangs and hopes the team has lots of success in the coming years.

I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been  trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed" - Michael Jordan; One Wish: I lived in warm tropical place; Most thrilling moment of sports career: Beating Garfield in our 2003-2004 season; Where would you like to be in 10 years?: somewhere warm!

34   Hannah Leuning
Hannah has been playing basketball for the Redmond program since 5th grade. She played varsity basketball at Redmond Junior High where she received the MVP award her 9th grade year. While at RJH, Hannah was awarded "Female Athlete of the Year" and received the Gold Presidential Scholar Award. During the summer, Hannah plays on the Puget Sound Flight and enjoys traveling to tournaments with her team. At the Little Oregon City Tournament, she was named to the All-Tournament Team. Hannah enjoys being with her friends and family, and is looking forward to a great season of basketball with the Mustangs!
